Making fragrance last in Warri's heat
Heat and humidity change how a fragrance behaves. Practical tips for making your scent last through a Warri day.

Warri is hot and humid for most of the year, and that changes how fragrance behaves. Heat makes scents project quickly and fade sooner, and humidity can make sweet or heavy notes feel thick. A few habits help.
Apply to the right places
Spray on pulse points: the wrists, the inner elbows, the neck and behind the ears. These spots are warm, so they help the scent bloom. Spraying clothes can help too, but test first, as some fabrics stain.
Start with moisturised skin
Fragrance clings better to hydrated skin. Apply an unscented moisturiser after your shower, then spray. A matching or neutral body lotion can add a little more staying power.
Do not rub your wrists
Rubbing breaks down the top notes and can make the scent fade sooner. Spray and let it dry.
Choose the right fragrance for the heat
- Eau de toilette and fresh scents feel comfortable in the heat, but fade faster. Carry a small bottle to reapply.
- Eau de parfum and woody or amber scents last longer, but use fewer sprays so they do not feel heavy.
- Perfume oils sit close to the skin and last well without projecting too much, which is useful in crowded or humid places.
Layer lightly
Pair an oil with a spray from the same family, for example an amber oil under an amber eau de parfum. The oil acts as an anchor.
Store it properly
Heat and sunlight spoil fragrance. Keep bottles in a cool, dark place, away from windows and bathrooms, and not in a hot car.
Reapply sensibly
In a hot climate, a midday refresh is normal. A miniature or travel spray fits in your bag for exactly this.
